Imbolc is traditionally a time for burning candles. It is also linked to Bride the life force that brings the earth from winter into spring. Some Wiccans purchase candles at this time and burn them in celebration of this festival.

At Imbolc, the light born at Yule brightens and begins to warm the land. The first signs of spring are present and the Earth is pregnant with the new life to come. The Goddess casts off her robes as the Wise one or Crone and returns as the Maiden. The God, reborn at Yule, is now a young man begins his pursuit of the Goddess.
